The camera has exceeded my expectations; the two lenses should cover just about any situation I wish to capture. The camera quality appears to be up to Nikon's reputation. The two DVD tutorial disks will be helpful to a beginner. One aspect is the complexity of the numerous modes; this will take some time for even an experienced photographer to master. A beginner without an understanding of basic photography will probably never use a tenth of the cameras capabilities. Overall, a great camera that will last the rest of my life.

Of all the DSLRs targeted to family use, the D60 is without doubt the best. It handles superbly and its matrix metering nails the exposure right. Performance and responsiveness are excellent. Images are by default on the vivid side, so colors are bright.

I use it as my purse camersa o whenver I want to have a coamera that is not bulky. It does a great job!
