Nice and light
by Online Shopper Sep. 24, 2007 (Updated Sep. 25, 2007)
Comments:
Pros: Love the upgraded visual effects! I thought about the G7 but after a few days with the 850is I will not need it. The thing I love most is how the battery is compatable with my older 700is. Now I can take enough pics to fill a four gig card without mu
Cons: The same terrible fear of dropping it like the last one I had. Granted they can take a little abuse. Just not when the lens is open! : (

Good for some - know what your camera needs to do!
by Online Shopper Sep. 23, 2007 (Updated Sep. 24, 2007)
Comments:
Pros: I'd been mostly using my discount priced Canon SD200 for two years. I'm not a mega pixel queen, so 3MP didn't bother me much, but it doesn't allow a lot of room to crop to get the best shot. Being cheap, I tried the non-IS SD1000 and then SD800 IS be
Cons: And I shoot in dark settings, without a flash. I'm not going to carry a tripod around in order to take acceptable night photos from an ultracompact camera. I hate writing negative reviews. My previous cameras go back to a Kodak DC3200 (given to Mom)

Robust yet compact
by Online Shopper Sep. 17, 2007 (Updated Sep. 18, 2007)
Comments:
Pros: This little camera gives the user qualities found on DSLR in a shirt pocket power-house. Owned this camera for two days before using the SD850 IS for a 50th Birthday Party, the pictures were both poolside and indoors with some night use for fireworks
Cons: There are no Cons I have found, I would advise reading the manual before shooting something important, things I thought I should do manually were taken care of automaticly by the camera with better results.
